oak and maple mountain banjo

I recently completed this mountain banjo, it has an oak pot and a maple neck. Ive tried a new way of setting the tension hoop. Its resting on some dome headed tacks. The idea being that the less surface hitting the bottom of the aluminium pot allows it to ring. It definitely seems to work combined with the hard oak pot this mountain banjo has great volume and fantastic tone.
